About 80% of Jewish people are "secular" - they have no particular feeling about God or religion. And, about 20% ARE religious, many with very STRONG feelings that others (especially Jewish people) should come along with them and follow the teachings of the ancient sages and rabbis.
Some Ultra-Orthdox are so fervent about this that they will do things to encounter people and try to convince them to be more "Torah-observant" Jews.
Sadly, what they mean by "Torah" is mostly the ORAL traditions of rabbis over the centuries. Some of these teaching are in agreement with Scripture but many are not. Ultimately, the goal of the rabbis today (as it was in the days of the New Testament) is to provide Jewish people with another "way" to follow God without following Yeshua.
