ENGLISH IN REMOTE VILLAGES OF ISRAEL

   Israel as a nation longs to be in relationship with and do business with as many nations of the world as possible. For much of our world English is the lingua franca, the language in which business is transacted.
   Thus, many Israelis have studied English and have a working vocabulary, at least for basic business - taking your order for food, giving some directions, advice on places to visit, etc.
   This cafe is well off the "beaten trail" in a village with just one other store. Yet even here, there were menus printed in English as well as staff that were able to take our order and assure we had a pleasant meal.
   If you are concerned about not knowing Hebrew ... if that is something keeping you for visiting Israel ... then CROSS IT OFF YOUR LIST ! More than enough Israelis know enough English to make sure you will have a great visit here!
